About Dr. Stavros Begetis, DC

Dr. Stavros Begetis graduated Cum Laude from the esteemed University of Bridgeport School of Chiropractic in Connecticut, the first chiropractic program based in an already-established university.

His clinical experience is diverse including being in Phase II outpatient Cardiac Rehabilitation in Yale-New Haven Hospital,, health fitness facilities as well as having worked over 2,000 hours in outpatient physical therapy as a rehabilitation tech.

Dr. Begetis has held certifications from the American College of Sports Medicine; his undergraduate studies being in Applied Physiology and Exercise Science. He has competed in the sport of Olympic-style weightlifting, having received coaching by National Champion and American Open Champion Jon North as well as having been taught and certified as a USA Weightlifting Level 2 Coach by Two-Time World Masters Champion Gary Valentine. Barbell training, powerlifting, and weightlifting are passions of Dr. Begetis, as he is adamant as using progressions of the squat, the deadlift, and the overhead press as therapeutic rehabilitation exercises for his patients.

Dr. Begetis uses manual therapy, rehabilitation exercises, lifestyle modification, and nutritional counseling for the well-being of his patients. His manual therapy skill set comprises of spinal manipulation, extremity adjusting, low-grade joint and extremity mobilization, instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization having been certified in FAKTR by Dr. Gregory Doerr, DC, electroacupuncture, active release technique, PNF, and Cox-Flexion Distraction to treat disc herniations and stenosis.
