Alex Renda earned his Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from Northwestern University in 2015. He is also a Board-Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS), which he earned in 2018. He comes from a varied background, treating in orthopedics, sports, as well as a neurological population.
As an expert in human movement, Dr. Renda practices with an emphasis on the three pillars of evidence-based practice: patient beliefs, clinical experience, and keeping up to date on the latest research. He comes from a most recent clinical setting in orthopedics, where he managed two facilities and facilitated their growth.
He has previously worked with orthopedic surgeons specializing in cartilage repair and many other post-operative protocols. He believes in the power of touch and emphasizes manual therapy in each physical therapy session to ensure optimal outcomes for each patient. He has several manual therapy certifications including dry needling, instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization, cupping, K-Tape, and joint manipulations.
Dr. Renda was an athlete in college, and he enjoys working with patients of all ages, including high-level golfers and tennis players. In the meantime, he enjoys sports as both a spectator and a recreational participant. He encourages others to partake in a healthy lifestyle, and he most enjoys returning patients to optimal health.
